When it came time to sell our house, we had a very short period of time to check out the market before we had to make a decision (unfortunately). This was the case with friends of ours as well, who sold their house "on a whim" and then had to go find something to move into post haste!
I don't know about you, but with such a big decision to make, I would like to check out as many homes as possible before we decide; but that can be quite difficult!
Often, homes have specific viewing dates, which all seem to be on the same day! How many houses can you see in one day when you've got two little ones to drag along with you. After a short while it starts to feel like it's becoming a chore!
You try to look at houses online first - but often the pictures are taken from odd angles in order to make the room look different (usually bigger) than it is. That is fine I suppose - but you sort of get the sense sometimes that they are trying to hide something...!
Enter Virtual Reality!
We use a 360 degree camera for agricultural purposes, to lower into a field (via a drone) and take pictures of the plants below the canopy so agronomists can get a better idea of the total plant health situation (see a video of that here!). We thought it would be a great application to take this virtual reality concept into real estate, so we could show potential buyers EVERYTHING.
With a 360 degree virtual reality real estate tour, you are able to look around the house, in any direction you want. If you have a virtual reality headset (which are WAY cheaper than you might expect - like, $30-50!), you can actually feel like you are INSIDE the house, checking it out room by room. See a room you like? Pause the video and take a look around at your own pace - there is no rush! There is no agent there lurking behind you, giving you that "Soooo, do you want to buy it?" feeling.
But don't take my word for it - check out this house we filmed in Winnipeg using our 360 degree 4k camera system. Feel free to let us know what you think!
